If your Stem1 (Stem Player) does not turn on, or the amber lights only pulse while it is plugged in, follow each step in order.
Step 1: Charge your Stem1
- 1
Plug the Stem1 into a reliable power source.
- 2
Leave it charging for at least three hours.
- 3
Do not unplug it during this time.
- 4
After three hours, press the power button and check whether it turns on.
Step 2: Check the cable and power adapter
- 1
Unplug the Stem1.
- 2
Connect it using a different USB cable.
- 3
Try a different power adapter.
- 4
Charge it again, then press the power button.
Changing both parts helps identify whether the problem comes from the Stem1, the cable, or the power adapter.
Step 3: Complete a manual factory reset
- 1
Press and hold both volume buttons.
- 2
Keep holding them for around six seconds.
- 3
Without releasing either volume button, press and hold the power button.
- 4
Continue holding all three buttons until the red light flashes.
- 5
Release the buttons after the red light flashes.
