What is a DAW?
DAW stands for digital audio workstation. A DAW is software used to arrange, edit and export music.
STEM DAW places songs and stems on a timeline. From there, you can move, cut, loop and layer stems, change their key, add effects and export your work.
STEM DAW runs in your browser through stem.fm. It is not available in the StemFM app yet.
How do I open STEM DAW?
- 1
Open stem.fm on a computer.
- 2
Sign in with your StemFM account.
- 3
Select STEM DAW from the menu.
If you have only used the StemFM app, sign in on the website with the same account details.
Is STEM DAW included with Premium?
Yes. STEM DAW is included with an active StemFM Premium subscription. There is no additional fee.
I have Premium but cannot see STEM DAW. Why?
STEM DAW does not appear in the StemFM app. It is only available through stem.fm on a computer.
Sign in on the website using the same account details you use for the app. Then select STEM DAW from the menu.
What is the difference between the StemFM app and STEM DAW?
The StemFM app lets you mix, edit and play with stems live. If you want more precise control over a mix you made in the app, you can move it to STEM DAW.
There, you can arrange stems on a timeline, cut and loop them, change their key, add effects and export your finished mix.
Both use the same account and catalogue. Your Premium subscription includes access to both.
